McCain Wins in Landslide

At our tri-weekly poker game of over 50+ retirees, I just had to climb into my time machine and see for myself.

Yes, it's true. After Obama secured the Democratic nomination, beating out Mrs. Clinton, the six die-hard Reagan Democrats said well that's a shame, but we'll have to take the wide, starry eyed youth vote to the woodshed one more time.You'd have thought they would have learned with Nader.

Even though we are firmly against the war. This is all the Democrats have to bring to the table except the promise of change. The most inexperienced person, promoted by Oprah, one of the most powerful people in the USA. Read wealthy. All six men said we'll be voting for McCain. WE don't need money. There are more of us than any other block. We'll win, every time.

What about the amazing amount of cash this guy has been able to raise? Doesn't matter. Older, more mature black women have been dutifully putting away money for years, just like Oprah said, there will come a leader and we have to be ready to support him. The race card? Has it been played? Yes. Effortlesssly by the Oprah/Obama camp. Oprah says this is my guy, I will support him. Read fund. I need you to get on board. NOW. Need the facts? Before Obama, black support for Hillary Clinton and her former President husband was well above the 50% range in all categories. She was supposed to cruise to the convention without a shot fired. Oprah declares, then Obama declares. Oops. Support dropped down into the low teens. Money went with it.

Well, what about all those white states that Obama won. Mostly all the "caucus" states? Irrelevent. If history proves out, they will go firmly "red" in the General Election. That's why they shouldn't let Republicans vote in the Democratic primary. You get false results.
My elderly friends restate thet Obama has no political capital to spend, even if he got elected, he would be a lame duck president. Nothing would get done.My friends astonish me then by saying if Oprah would have run for President, even eight years ago she would have won hands down. We probably would have voted for her or at least our wives would have.
So, I go a little further in my Machine. Headlines...O'bama taps Oprah for VP slot...(did'n't see that coming)...McCain wins in landslide....Hillary Clinton wins Democratic nomination for 2012...House..Senate now firmly Democrat...Clinton wins 2012 presidency...vows war in Iraq over...to bring home troops now.
