The Meaning of life part 1
posted May 28, 2009 - 12:26amThis question is cliche'. When one asks "What's the meaning of life?" They are pondering a question that has to this day never been answered. I want to tackle this question in my own way. It is my belief that everyone should have a meaning for life. Whether that meaning be infinite or conclusive, the meaning of life should not be taken lightly. Many youths are too naive to even consider why they are alive, and there are some to have a head start to answering such questions. The point of this blog is to give some insight to how we can begin life's questions.
Life, scientifically it means something than can reproduce and maintain a self sufficient homeostasis. That means something that sustains itself and replicates itself. In the metaphysical realm, life continues after death. In the natural realm, life ceases to exist after death. It is my thinking, the view that one believes indramatically effects the way they think about life in general. Their schema on reality is literaly shaped by their position on the matter of life and death. So I ask the question, "What is the meaning of life if die and that's it? The only meaning in that equation is short term and finite. Our lives are less then a pin prick when compared to the massive geological timescale. The meaning of our lives is very small when comparing to it to a large scale of time. The other question is "What is the meaning of life if I die and pass on." To the person it may have more meaning, but in reality since life continues on to infinity the meaning of their lives is small. What I am getting at is, that getting to the meaning of life does not rely of human perception alone, but a combination of pereception and reality. I will continue the rest of this blog soon.
