Meaning Of Life
posted August 19, 2007 - 12:48pmLife. It's meaning eludes even the craftiest of it's followers. Why am I here? What is my purpose? If we knew the answers to this, would life even be worth living? Perhaps, the meaning of life is to ponder the very question that this life proposes. Many different people have
their own separate perceptions of what life is and how they should
live it. Many other's seem to assume that their purpose is to impose on other's lives. Is that what life is about? Controlling others? I think that everything is what you want it to be, and nothing at the same time.
Just think, how boring would this life be if you knew exactly what it was that you were supposed to accomplish? What would you do after you had completed your purpose. When there's nothing left to strive towards, is there any meaning to life? Perhaps there is no purpose in life. Then what would that mean? Would that mean that we're all just believing in something that isn't real? What if the human race has it's own separate purpose, designed for the entire race, not just the individuals.
Spiders. Their purpose is to cut down on the population of bugs. Plankton, to feed the fish. Flies to help decompose corpses. Dung beetles to eat dung. What if us as humans have no purpose. What if our purpose is to destroy all that God (Or, whoever) has created. From my perspective of things, I can't see a single that that we do other than, use up all of the resources in one area, and then move to another. Humans are by far the most resourceful creatures in the known universe, but also the most detrimental to themselves and their surroundings. I'm not saying that we should conserve our forests, and save the animals. I'm just saying that from my point of view, our purpose in life, is to destroy ourselves.
