The Medibank International is the fifth oldest tennis tournament in the world. The event will have a new surface in 2008. All 16 courts at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre are being resurfaced with Plexicushion. With the first Slam, the Australian Open also using the new surface, the players will have an opportunity for a test run.
