While John McCain has been running ads that make fun of celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Barack Obama, his daughter Meghan McCain is trying hard to be a celebrity herself.

Besides McCain Blogette, the blog she and her staff have been producing during the campaign, the L.A. Times also notes her hanging out with Heidi Montag, star of MTV reality show "The Hills."

And she has had her hair cut at a Melrose Place salon "frequented by celebs Kate Hudson, Renee Zellweger, Meg Ryan, Jane Fonda and Lisa Rinna."

She is also in the process of writing a book.
