London: Men are sure to be horrified when they find out that they spend almost a year of their lives cooling their heels while waiting for their better halves.

And, this finding is based not on the projection of a man frustrated at being kept waiting, but on the strength of a new survey.

The survey was conducted by Brit clothes website www.missbutterfly.co.uk , which polled 2,000 men across the country.

The results also found that the average man spends 22 weeks of his life waiting outside changing rooms in shops as his partner tries on different clothes, reports The Sun .

A spokesman for the survey said: It’s staggering how long men have to wait.

He also ends up spending a week sitting in his car while picking up his lady love from girlie nights out –something 61 per cent of the guys answering the survey said drove them crazy.

However, even men have their limits, for one in ten of them have been left so annoyed by being made to wait, that they would rather dump their woman than tow the line.

But while waiting can be a pain for men, they do get their own back by checking out other girls in the store – something one in five men admit to doing
