Merchandisers / vendors enjoy job flexibilty, good pay and more!
posted October 1, 2007 - 6:49amI've been a merchandisr-vendor for over 10 years. I really enjoy the work and perks. I have a hectic schedule and lots of persians to care for so it allows me to have flexible hours and choose which jobs I want and pass on any I dont want.
What is
a merchandiser? I go into stores, usually Walmarts and home Centers and pull magazines and put out the newest issues. When I worked for Revlon, I went in Walmarts and stocked every week and answered some survey questions.
Sometimes you may be asked to cut in and tag a new item or do an entire section reset. You would need to read a planogram for this....but dont worry, it's easy to learn.
You can expect to make $8-12 an hour. Some companies offer benefits and even the use of company cars but this is rare.
Start your search at http://NARMS.com. They list a lot of merchandiser openings by state. Also http://flexhire.com is a good start. Good luck!
