Merry Christmas to All and to All a Goodnight!
posted December 25, 2008 - 4:53amWe are almost into four hours of Christmas (CST). Even with grown children, I must wait up for "Santa" to do his thing. I went to mass tonight with my husband. He is Catholic, I am not. This was my 26th Christmas to go to mass. I had the surprise of my life! Usually I make my "escape" during communion. Being the heathen Christian that I am, I have never been allowed to partake. I was walking out the door and the new priest invited all Christians to partake in communion. I was so shocked that it was almost my last Christmas! Truly, this was life altering. I live in the mid-southwest region (Southern Baptists baby, but I am not Baptist) so I don't know if we are eons past the times from the West Coast and the East Coast. But, I was astounded. This was with out a doubt the most enjoyable mass that I have ever attended. My in-laws were not so happy. People get used to a routine and if it is changed, it is mid-boggling. I just loved the Christmas, Christian and Holy spirit.
