Mexican Official Urges North American Union

This article is about the remarks of a Mexican mayor at a Denver conference on intercontinental trade corridors, in which he called for the swift merger of the United States, Canada and Mexico and the opening of the borders.

Mayor Perez also "affirmed the Ports to Plains Corridor is basically a NAFTA Superhighway and needs to be developed as such."

The National ID Card is a Serious Threat to Our Civil Liberties

I am completely against the National ID Card and it certainly isn't going to stop illegal immigration. That's just the excuse being given. State driver's licenses are plenty good enough for purposes of identification for U.S. citizens and legal residents and saying that the National ID Card will stop illegal immigration while our borders are left wide open is ridiculous. The National ID card is a serious threat to our civil liberties and the last I heard it's only about a year away. I still disagree on the border wall. We are being literally invaded by illegal aliens and something has to be done. Our treasonous elite do not want to keep Americans in, they want our borders erased entirely. After all, if the border wall was bad for the United States and the American people, then the elites would be FOR it. If the border wall was GOOD for the United States and the American people, then the elites would be AGAINST it, which they are.

One thing to remember...

One thing to remember: Any wall built by our government to keep people out can also be used to keep us in. Same with the National ID card. People that demand that the illegals already here get chipped or get some sort of national identification card also start the rest of us down the road to getting chipped and having all of our information put into a national database. The government has a long and notorious career in using public unrest to expand and consolidate its power--the Great Depression, World War II, the 60's, LBJ's Great Society (beginning of the Welfare State). We need to be careful what we ask for because the government--who is fomenting this unrest--is waiting in the wings with an additional plan to expand and consolidate its power. Yes, the illegal aliens are a problem. Yes, you and I will have to agree to disagree on what kind of problem they are in the big picture. The reason Mexico doesn't take Haitians or even people from south of its borders is because Mexico actually enforces it immigration laws, yet demands that our government ignore our own laws. The problem with saying Mexico is a rich country and their country could afford more immigrants is that their rich people do not pay an income tax or support an infrastructure nor do they want want to do so. The government, which could compel them to pay an income tax are beholden to the rich and to the drug lords (often one and the same) and anyone who challenges the status quo ends up in a pine box. The media there cannot speak up for reform for much the same reasons. Any investigative reporter caught exposing the corruption ends up in a pine box. I'm not saying that I am happy about the illegals coming here and demanding the same rights that you or I have--and I am certainly not happy about the anchor baby phenomena, taking advantage of a loophole in the 14th Amendment. But, all of us common citizens are in the same boat--being ruled by an elitist minority who would have no problem killing us or locking us up if it served their purposes. In a perfect world, there would have already been a revolution in this country and the murdering psychopaths who own our elected and appointed government would be swinging in the wind pour encouragez les otres; I am not a violent man, but I do understand that the only thing power understands is power. _______________________________________________________ "Treason doth never prosper, what's the reason? Build a Wall, Cut Off Welfare and Jail Employers-Problem Solved

I agree that the elites in this country are selling out our sovereignty due to greed and a desire to set up a one-world government/global dictatorship. If they weren't, if we actually had a government that put the United States and the American people first, then we wouldn't have the illegal alien invasion that we have. For our government to talk about fighting terrorism while our borders are left wide open is a total joke. We will just have to agree to disagree on illegal aliens themselves. Nothing will convince me that they are innocent people who shouldn't be held accountable for their actions. In fact, if nothing is done soon to stop illegal immigration, in 20 years the United States will be a third-world dump. (Assuming of course that the U.S. will even still be a country by then). To solve illegal immigration, all our government has to do is build a border wall, cut off all welfare, free healthcare and other freebies that illegals get and put the employers/CEOs of illegal aliens in jail. Problem solved. Also, it isn't the responsibility of American citizens to take care of illegal aliens because they are "poor". For that matter, there are people in many other countries who are a lot poorer than the people in Mexico. In fact, why doesn't Mexico offer to take in about 1,000,000 people from Haiti? Mexico is a lot richer than Haiti.

Illegal Immigrants are a symptom...

Illegal immigrants are only a symptom. The root of the disease is the treason activities of those in our government (with complicity of Mexico's government) to create the conditions where the illegals have to come here or starve. While there has always been a sort of fluctuation of Mexican nationals coming here to work but mostly returning home, the problem of huge numbers coming here began back in the 1980's with the passing of the GATT treaty, which crippled Mexico's lower classes and began the permanent migration to the US. The first of several amnesties was back in 1986 and legalized about 3.5 million illegals. What we need to be doing is not focusing on the people coming here (yes, they bring many problems with them, but the Mexican government has been corrupt since the 1800's and that corruption permeates the culture) as much as we should be addressing the root problem: corruption by the power elites in our country selling out our sovereignty in the name of corporate hubris and greed. Eliminate corporate control of our own government, end GATT and NAFTA, compel Mexico's moneyed elites to share their money to support a real infrastructure in Mexico, and the illegals will go home. Yes, I know all about the problems they bring with them and the problems that are compounded by the illegals having kids here who grow up seeing the US as a checkbook and not something worthy of loyalty. I live in California and see it everyday. But, until the root causes of the problem are addressed, things will only get worse. _______________________________________________________ "Treason doth never prosper, what's the reason? A Lot of Cities Are Being Destroyed By Illegal Immigration

While libertarians hold a number of views that I agree with, I disagree completely with the "open borders" viewpoint many have. People going across the borders are not the same thing as goods going across the borders. Goods, for example, do not cause significant levels of crime, which illegals do. Furthermore, a great many cities and towns across the United States are being destroyed by illegal immigration. This is a documented fact and can easily be researched on the internet. I oppose the NAU because it would mean the end of the sovereignty of the United States.

The operative phrase being...

The operative phrase out of what he said is "open the borders". Being a civil libertarian, my quarrel about the border is not with the so-called illegals coming here. They are really no different than us, especially in the eyes of the power elites who are using the old divide-and-conquer tactic to keep attention off of their own questionable, treasonous activities. The NAU/SPP push isn't about improving the quality of life for Canadians, Americans, or Mexicans. No, it is all about opening the natural resources of Canada and Mexico to rape by American corporate interests. For that reason, I oppose the NAU. _______________________________________________________ "Treason doth never prosper, what's the reason?
