Michael Jackson- So Confused Yet So Inspirational

Whether or not you love Michael Jackson more than anything, or simply hate his guts; he will always be a music legend. Though his behavior was for the most part out of control, he was a musical genius, and the king of pop. So many things about Michael Jackson and his life captured us. In this time of mourning and controversy we need to focus on the positive and inspirational things.

I was about 7 years old when I overheard the music coming from the old radio in our garage where my dad was working. It was really "peppy" and the words were very easy to catch on to. ABC, as easy as 123, as simple as Do Re Mi...... I immediately decided I loved this song! I excitedly ran to the garage and asked my dad "who is this singing?" "The Jackson 5," he replied, "and that is Michael Jackson singing the verses." And so, he became a new love of mine, little Michael Jackson.

As I got older I became more and more into Michael Jackson, his songs, the song lyrics, his fabulous dance moves, and even his looks. It was late in the 80's when I remember hearing "Man In The Mirror, and early in the 90's when I first heard "Black or White." Each of these songs were very inspiring to me at the time, and are still inspiring me today. These two songs are also examples of the way Michael sent out a message to the world through song, and yet sadly, did not apply the message to himself.

"I'm talking with the man in the mirror,
I'm asking him to change his ways,
no message could have been any clearer;
if you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make the change."

"If you wanna be my brother it don't matter if you're black or white."
