Because all of the "progressive" agendas I've seen have come from left-wing groups and politicians. AlterNet is also a product of the Independent Media Institute...a left-wing, non-profit organization supported by other left-wing donors, including George Soros – a well-known anti-American socialist. But this isn't just my opinion like you claim. There are also other socialist websites that identify AlterNet as a fellow comrade.
