Migranes and ideas
posted January 17, 2009 - 3:42amDo you ever get killer migranes that you just can not stop. Can not get rid of? Sometimes they last 30 min and sometimes they last up to 6 months straight. You cant go to the doctor cause health insurance now adays is just crazy, along with the bills and prescription costs
Here is some of the things I do to help with my relief of my migranes :
1. Sage. It is used great on your food like chicken or fish, and I also make it with my tea. Just bowl it with the tea bags, drain, and add some lemon and sugar, honey to taste.
2. Anacin. It can be bought over the counter at any grocery store, or medical supply. This stuff is great.
3. Tylenol PM. Take a hour before bed, and it helps you sleep like a baby when your head is pounding away and you feel like a disaster. If you take Anacin, make sure the effects of the caffein has worn off a bit before taking Tylenol PM.
4. Watch what you eat. Some foods will make your migrane worse or make you have a migrane.
5. Some foods will help your migrane.
6. Nice hot bath with lavendar in the water. Lavendar is a relaxant and will help relax you.
This is some of the foods you should try to avoid if you are someone that has migranes :
-Peanuts, peanut butter, other nuts and seeds
-Pizza
-Potato chip products
-Chicken livers and other organ meats
-Smoked or dried fish
-Sourdough bread, fresh baked yeast goods (donuts, cakes,homemade breads, and rolls)
-Bread, crackers, and desserts containing cheese
-Certain fresh fruits including ripe bananas, citrus fruits, papaya, red plums, raspberries, kiwi, pineapple
-Dried fruits (figs, raisins, dates)
-Soups made from meat extracts or bouillon (not homemade broth)
-Cultured dairy products, sour cream, buttermilk, yogurt
-Caffeine found in chocolate and cocoa; beverages such as coffee, tea and colas; also found in certain medications
-Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners
Im not saying that all these things will cause you migranes, but in some people they will. So if you are one person that can not take caffeine, then please do not take Anacin.
I am not a doctor, this is just the things I do for my migrane. So if it does not help you or it bothers you then it is not my fault or my responsibility.

MSG, common name for monosodium glutamate, a flavor enhancer which is now in almost universal use in almost all processed foods
nuts
sourdough breads
cheeses which have been aged, i.e. cheddar
red wines, beer, champagne, vermouth
chocolate
anchovies
