Missing woman found in own home after 40 years

Missing woman found in own home after 40 years

A woman who was reported missing more than forty years ago, was found dead in her own home.

The discovery was made when bailiffs and police broke down the door in an attempt to find out who actually owned the house. Police were shocked at what they discovered. The woman was found in her armchair in front of the television with a cup of tea at her side. It was concluded that the lady had taken a heart attract and had remained in the same place for more than forty years.

Police reported that stepping into the woman’s home was like stepping back in time. There were things that people had not seen in years and the décor that was used in the house was phased out years ago. The woman was sitting in front of a black and white television and the cup of tea that she had made herself was sitting next to her on a table, untouched.

Police are enquiring into why the woman’s house was never checked when she was reported missing back in 1962. Her death is not being treated as suspicious and police are now trying to trace any family members who may still be around.

Was her house in the woods? The odor of the dead body should have alerted someone.

To think that nobody checked on her. That she did not have friends or loved ones who would have known something was wrong.

In 40 years, no cops went to her house to find clues...or to check if she was there.

In 40 years, ownership of the house was not dealt with.

They found her undisturbed....I wonder what decomposition is called - after 40 years, there would have been very little left of her.

And in 40 years, her cup o tea was undisturbed....it hadn't even evaporated? That's some impressive anti-physics.

Journalist instict kicking in here but where is your source for that story?

Dude,I wasn't trying to be a bitch - I was genuinely curious; I've not come across the story anywhere, thought it a bit strange and thought I'd ask. But Kudos on the snark.

I don't know who wrote the original report, but there is no way, biologically possible, her body still would be intact (without being embalmed) after 40 years. Her clothes would be there, and there might have been some bones visible, like her skull, etc. Now... the "tea" still there untouched? Well, the cup and saucer could be there.

I googled this and the stories I read do not state that there is any tea in the cup, only the cup was still there - Maybe with a tea bag???

There are conflicting reports that it was a house and it was an apartment. Who wouldn't check an apartment after that amount of time???

Also, one report said it was 35 years, another 40 and yet another 42 years. Not much difference, but I was looking for reliablity with the story.

I didn't really find it on any true news source, so I would be really sceptic on the reliability of the source.

One report stated her friends reported her missing and another report stated her neighbor reported her missing.

Folks would be smelling her in an apartment after a short while!!

Not too sure if I buy it... : )
