"Modern-Day Slavery" Case Lands Millionaire In Prison.

Varsha Sabhnani has been convicted, and sentenced to 11 years in prison (among other punishments included in her sentencing) for inflicting years of abuse on two women working in her home.

According to reports, the Indonesian women were forced to sleep on mats in the kitchen, work without pay, and were abused severely for various misdeeds. These "misdeeds", such as sleeping in, or 'stealing' food from the trash due to extreme hunger, apparently led to punishments such as; being forced to take cold showers, being beaten with umbrellas, being slashed with knives, being forced to down chili peppers and then eat their own vomit when they couldn't hold down dozens of these peppers, etc.
