Morgan Freeman Seriously Injured in Car Accident

Around 11:30 PM yesterday evening, 71 year old Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman, and one of the stars of summer blockbuster The Dark Knight, was seriously injured in a car accident just north of Ruleville, Mississippi. He was airlifted to a Memphis hospital where last reports indicate he was resting comfortably, despite being in considerable pain, having suffered a few broken bones. The car he was driving, which also contained an unidentified female passenger, reportedly left the roadway before flipping over several times.

At this time, it doesn't appear that alcohol or other drugs played a part in this driving mishap. Despite being conscious and in good spirits, his condition is still listed as serious.

The Shawshank Redemption has become one my favorite flicks over the years, which I attribute to the outstanding performance by Mr. Freeman. A truly remarkable actor, I wish him a very speedy recovery.
