Most Excellent Reasons to Join Xomba: Leverage Views, Boost Earnings
posted September 2, 2009 - 12:48pmShould You Join Xomba?
If you've been scouting Xomba in recent weeks, you'll notice my name and picture cropping up. I've been a busy bee posting blurbs and bites at Xomba.
When I first heard about Xomba, I nearly fell over! You've got to be kidding, right? A place where I can write 150-word articles and short 50-word blurbs about my articles???? I immediately thought: ah-hah! traffic generation!
The thought that followed on the heels of this was: Oh my! You mean I can get paid for doing something I do already??? Lickity-split, I joined Xomba and became a died-in-the-wool "Xombie."
Writers and those who create content are always looking for ways to link to their online articles. They know it's important to create a large article base and link to it at every opportunity so that articles spread out across the Internet, like ripples in a pond. The "waves" that come back are increased article views, brand building, and yes, that holy grail . . . income.
Xomba, as can be seen, is a most excellent idea, one that's time has come, offering a duel pay-off: earnings for your Xombites and Xomblurbs and traffic generation, which leads to additional earnings. It's all good, isn't it?

Still Just Not Convinced?
Go back to being paid $2.00-$5.00 for a grammatically perfect, keyword optimized article that you've slaved over for hours to please a finicky client, and then, as you are reaching for that second bottle of Alka Seltzer tablets, remember Xomba.
You could be submitting blurbs and bites, sipping cool ones reclining in a lounger, but hey . . . who am I to discourage you from churning out those headache-producing, blood pressure elevating articles.

most excellents reasons for joining Xomba
You are incorrect. the rule is as follows: 22. Xomblurbs cannot be used to link to Xombytes. This makes sense when you think about it. We post blurbs all over the place.
My article was hightlighting the fact that if someone has articles at other revenue share sites, they can use Xomblurbs and Xombites to drive traffic to said articles, thus earning more from their published articles, while still earning from their bites and blurbs.
The article was not a definitve breakdown of how to earn on Xomba--simply offering some of the excellent reasons for joiining Xomba. I use a number of strategies--but that's for future articles.

No 'Xombytes to Xomblurbs' Though, Right?
I would ask Nick - Xomba CEO if that's still the rule; it should be.
But I think you're forgetting one important ingredient to BIG money on Xomba - Referrals!
It's good that you're telling them they can get money by writing articles-&-bookmarks/comments (I've gotten money that way), but it's bad that you lead them to believe that's where the BIG money they'll get is coming from.
For BIG money, each member needs lots-and-lots of referrals that work as hard as they do themselves (writing SEO-conscious articles and inviting friends to read them).
You'll be tempted to switch to just-referring; but that's bad, because money will stop flowing to your upline and your downline will follow your example and everyone will quit.

@DirectsAuraBh What Xomba Can Do for You
Before Web 2.0 was 'revealed,' people would've told you that all Xomba can do for you is give you a place to express-yourself/practice-communication/make-connections/show-off-your-BRAINS ... BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINS ...
And after Web 2.0, you can still do all that; but--especially since you can 'get' money using your time in other ways (a lot of people call it 'making' money, but 'made' money is fake)--Abmox (the purple alien) decided sweeten the deal and throw in some money with it.
I can't tell you exactly how it works, but basically 1) have a lot of connected friends (through Twitter, Facebook, Bebo, MySpace, Yuwie, Yahoo! etc) and 2) write stuff they like to read about stuff that makes them curious.
But don't quit your day-job just yet! Writers' revenue from Xomba isn't something you can live off of (not until years-and-years later)

Wow! Thank you Jeremy. How kind of you.
For those who are willing to work at it, Xomba provides a good method of income generation. What other site allows users to bookmark their own articles and earn while doing so and then also allows for creation of short articles, which also earn? Three thumbs up for Xomba--a boon for writers everywhere!

@cstone cipher @athlyn But All That SPstuff is a Resounding Gong
Sure, 'the resounding gong' is full of tech-heavy formulae and deep-spirit philosophy to people who-are highly evolved and/or -heavily equipped; but your audience IS NOT. (well, SOME are so equipped/evolved; but they're the EXCEPTION).
If you focus more on 'spreading whatever sends you advertisers' extra money' than you focus on 'making your writing better for your readers,' then people who see your work will know it is practically worthless before they even get to it!
But if you focus on refining your writing--forsaking your advertising and even telling people NOT to tell anyone of your awesomeness (as Lord Jesus Christ did in the beginnings of His ministry)--then people will gladly strive to discover the wonderment your writing will be!
