A source of mine in the prosecutors office told me in federal grand jury has subpoenaed MySpace.com in a probe stemming from the suicide of a 13-year-old Megan Meier a Missouri teenager who received cruel and hateful emails on Myspace which turned out to be a hoax

Federal prosecutors are planning on charging Lori Drew the mother who created the fake page and bullying the 13 year old with defrauding MySpace by creating a false account Early next week. If you remember Lori Drew, her daughter and a teenage employee used the account to trick Megan Meier into believing she was talking with a 16-year-old boy/

Megan who was almost the textbook loner hung herself in October 2006 after receiving cruel messages from the fictional boy saying the world would be better off without her.

Prosecutors in Missouri declined to charge anyone because no laws appeared to apply to the case.Several other grand jury subpoenas were issued last week potential witnessesnt.

Experts say the government convened a grand jury because it has created a case in which MySpace would be the victim of a fraud (meaning the person who perpetrated the fraud could be prosecuted).Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles believe they have jurisdiction because MySpace is based in Beverly Hills and Drew will face a few other charges as well. Sources say that the charges most likely will come down by Wednesday of next week and Drew will be extradited to face Charges in LA.
