UP - Movie review

Lured by the repeated commercials in POGO, my son wanted to see the DISNEY-PIXAR’s movie “UP” for a long time. Finally we decided to go to the movie, for the sake of the child, as it is a cartoon movie. Later we realized
that it is worth watching it, irrespective of age, by anyone.
Apart from being funny and creative, the animations in the movie were too good. The hero of the movie, a 78-year old balloon salesman, decides to build a floating house made of balloons and stay “UP” high in the sky, to be deprived of tortures by various people on earth and to enjoy a peaceful life. A cute little boy, Russell, joins him in his journey, by accident, and gradually they both become good friends. The adventures they both face, during the course of staying “UP”, is the rest of the story.
I could see all kind of feelings portrayed in this movie – comedy, fun, sentiments, love, hatred, bravery and so on. The old-aged man remembering about his dead wife, and treasuring her photos and books, was depicted to be truly practical.
Both the old man and the lady, right from childhood, were fond of adventure, and the wife had considered their married life itself as an enjoyable adventure. When the husband comes to know about this through her words, after she passes away, he gets highly motivated, and decides to sacrifice the house and his treasures, for the sake of helping Russell, and to have another adventure, as suggested by her.
Russell is highly captivating, and his looks best suit a helping, benevolent fellow. He gets very much attached to the animals and birds, that he detaches himself from the old man’s house, and flies separately to save his friends.
Animation, the art of taking people to a different world through computers, has always fascinated me. This movie is yet another instance to showcase the wonderful invention of man and has the ability to bring out the child in you.

Great review. I definitely agree with you that every emotion was portrayed in this movie, and very well I might add.
Keep up the good work!
