Movie Review: It Happened at the World's Fair (1963)
posted October 23, 2009 - 10:01amElvis Presley plays a cropduster, but he and his buddy end up in a wild and great fist fight (which was heavily trimmed by the censors in Sweden 1963). The two guys are broke and cops repossess their airplane.
They hitch-hike to Seattle whee
they're going to try and make some money. There's the huge World's Fair in Seattle and Elvis befriends a disgusting, cute little kid who's daddy has disappeared.
Elvis lives in a trailer and falls in love with a nurse. To get to meet her, he bribes little Kurt "Snake Plissken" Russell to kick him on his leg so he gets hurt. Damn, does Elvis get a lot of chicks in this movie. There's some more fighting towards the ending.
The songs Elvis performs are pretty lame and forgettable - and he even sings a couple of children's songs.
Rewatch VIVA LAS VEGAS instead of this strange piece of celluloid.
Here are the songs Elvis performs:
"Beyond the Bend"
"Relax"
"Relax"
"Take Me to the Fair"
"They Remind Me Too Much of You"
"One Broken Heart for Sale"
"I'm Falling In Love Tonight"
"Cotton Candy Land"
"They Remind Me Too Much of You"
"One Broken Heart for Sale"
"I'm Falling In Love Tonight"
"Cotton Candy Land"
"A World of Our Own"
"How Would You Like to Be"
"Happy Ending"
