I think I was 11 or 12 when I read Jay Anson's first book and I quickly went through the two book sequels before I had even seen the first movie. As for how I feel about the whole thing: let's just say that I would go back and ready the books before I'd even think about watching a movie about it again.

I would like to own the In Search Of series on DVD. Leonard Nimoy always had a great voice for narration.
