Moving from NYC to Oregon
Moving from NYC to Oregon
Moving across the country is extremely difficult; everything is different. Where do I start?! There is so much to think about and so many differences. For starters, I terribly miss my parents! I miss my friends and neighbors; I also miss my siblings. I miss the whole neighborhood. This new neighborhood and state is very different from what I am used to. Everyone is here has all kinds of unusual personalities. The New York attitude that I am used to is not here in the West. The attitude here seems… I don’t know… fake. To me it seems that people here do things out of courtesy and not because they actually mean what they do. In NYC, everyone is true with their way of talking and their personalities. The way they talk to people is also from their hearts, be it something nice or something mean.
The overall picture of this new place is alright, but this is nothing compared to NYC. Living in NYC for nearly 12 years really got me attached to it. Then again moving around is not always a bad thing. I think moving brings out many things about a person which can not be found while living in the same place for such a long time. I think I will really learn many things about myself while I am away from my parents… I guess we’ll find out pretty soon.

You need time to know a new place and new people.
I've learned that I cannot compare different places, you must just have time to discover a new world.
Welcome to Oregon
Well, to be honest, Oregon is awesome. It's where I call home and is a beautifully landscaped state. If you have any questions or need info, just let me know, I'd be happy to help.
Peace,

Change takes time to become normal
Antonella,
Definitely true it takes time to get used to many things in life, especially when a person moves to a new place. This is a big move and I definitely need time. Thanks for your input.
Oregon IS awesome! :)
Mia,
I didn't mean to make Oregon seem so bad. I was here less than two years ago and I stayed for a month. I found Oregon to be awesome too and I still think it's a great state. However, since this time I know I am going to be here for quite awhile, my brain just blocked all the positive aspects of Oregon. Hopefully with time I will enjoy Oregon, but I will still terribly miss NYC.
Thank you for the offer to help.
Sam
