The games of political One-Upmanship has started seriously even before the terrorists have been smoked out or the decapacitated, body count completed or even a clearer picture has emerged as to the agenda of the attackers. After the BJP's ads in papers talking about the Congress Govt's inefficiency, Gujarat's CM Narendra Modi has offered one crore to the Maharashtra Govt with much fanfare at Mumbai. Since Maharashtra is ruled by Congress it can only be a step towards embarrassing the Govt. and scoring points. The timing of the gesture is abominable. Its sad to see politicians get their act together so quickly when downgrading their opponents but not in matters of National security. Is it the same Mr. Modi who watched and abetted the attacks on Muslims in Gujarat in silence for days together before taking even rudimentary steps? Anyways what is Modi doing at Mumbai, instead of staying and monitoring the situation in his volatile state?
