My Belief in a Nut Shell

My Belief in a Nut Shell

Here is what I believe in a nut shell. That God loves me very much and I am so undeserving of it. God calls me to love others as he loves me. I believe it is all by grace and that we walk by grace to lead us to obedience of his calling. I believe I am to grasp a hold with one hand but not let go with the other. I believe the sword of his word in my life is sharpened on one side by mercy and the other side by his discipline. I believe that Jesus died for me and that his love is so great he will rebuke me because his great love for me.

I believe works will follow those that love God, but we are not saved by works or obedience. I believe in predestination and freewill working together. I believe the truths of Scriptural declarations and the truths of how those truths were worked out experientially in the lives of those recorded in Scripture. I believe that there are two covenants and that we can choose which Covenant we want to be under. But, I also believe that God uses the Law and leads us to Christ and then we are freed from the Law but not from obedience.

I believe that ambiguous Scriptures are like wobbly stepping stones in the middle of a river and that if we put are whole weight on them we tend to end up all wet. I believe in Gods differing calls on peoples life, for the edification of the body of Christ. I believe that many will come to him in that day and will not get in. But I also believe that many will get in. I believe that God will have mercy on whom he will have mercy and that when Jesus was here it was the church leaders that he had the most problems with.

I believe that I am not perfect and mercy overcomes judgment. I believe that love conquered death. I believe that God still calls people to sell their possessions and to follow him. I believe that God calls men still to be apostles and prophets and priests and kings and workers of miracles and healers and deacons and pastors and shepherds and bakers and cooks and janitors. I believe that not all who work miracles or are in deliverance ministries will be saved.

I believe in being passionate and surrendered to God in whatever you do and to do it with all your might. I believe that when we do this with true hearts God will show us where we have gone wrong or right and so we learn.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, that Jesus was raised from the dead, that the Father sent him. I believe that my Daddy is confusing to me at times but I know he is to be trusted, for he has proved himself to me over and over again. For his thoughts are not my thoughts.

I believe that suffering produces patience and patience character and character hope. I believe that God blesses some with wealth and others with poverty and both are accountable to God. Both need to trust in his love. I believe that those who have faith whether they receive the promises God has for them or not, that they will be commended as the whole of Hebrews chapter 11 talks about.

I believe in love, I believe in faith, I believe in hope. I believe in mercy; I believe in the wrath of God. I believe in grace; I believe in obedience. I believe in rest; I believe in works. I believe that God is very personal. I believe that there is no system to get to God, except for what God may set up. I believe that we will all be judged by him and that without him we can do nothing. I believe it is about relationship with God. I believe in the assurance of salvation and also in the fear of God. I believe God is a consuming fire and so, depending of what type of material we are will we be purified or burnt up.

I believe God laughs at the wicked, rejoices in the truth, weeps over our sins, cries when we cry, rejoices when we rejoice, but is not controlled by our attempts at manipulating him through our emotions. I have experience with that one it doesn't work, trust me.

I believe that all the commands he gives us to do, our great and wonderful God does for us, but only by, in, and through his grace, holiness, and wonderful fathering, husband-like, friendship, all knowing, all seeing, self sacrificial-consuming-burning-jealous-passionate love for us so that we might experience that love and love others like he loves us.

So, these are my beliefs in a nut shell. :) That's like trying to pack the ocean into a nut shell, you only got a small taste, but I don't know if you want to just try it straight - you may need to try it with something; it is pretty salty in all. :)

God bless have a great day.
