My Birthday Gift

My Birthday Gift

It was quite a day. I got to sleep in till 11:15 (yeah sleep). That was nice. Then I got a shower and went and got my check. I got lunch at Burger King on my way home (there was no way I was cooking on my birthday). I felt like an ass walking through the door with only three meals. My brother has been staying with us and I didn’t know he was home but he fixed himself a sandwich and all was well. A cousin stopped by to look at my mom’s car she left here for us to sell. Then about a half hour after he left, it was time for Teddy to come home. After he got home, we headed to wal-mart for various items. We were looking for Teddy a new shirt for picture day. We shopped a little and went to check out. At the check out, I looked at Teddy and asked if he was feeling ok. “A little.” was his reply. Then he got “the look”. So here I am at the check out saying, “Wait! Hold on!” I grabbed a plastic bag as fast as I could and raced back to him. Then among the gagging you herd the sound of whatever was in his stomach hitting the bottom of the plastic bag. So I walked him out of the store holding the bag in front of him while he’s gagging. He did fine till he got home and then he was making deposits to the porcelain god of hurl. For dinner it was KFC. Teddy ate mashed potatoes and got sick again. Then I had to run to the store. On my way back, my brother called and asked if I’d give him a lift to the bus stop and I did. By the time I got back home, Teddy was in bed and Tad went to get me a cake. Frannon finally went to sleep around 9:30 and after we knew the kids were good and asleep, we had birthday cake. It was a good day. God gave me a great gift yesterday. He let me know that I’m needed as a mom, and a sister. Also that my family cares enough to call and say “Hey! You made it another year! How’d that happen?” Finally that my hubby cares enough to let me sleep in, not cook, buy a cake, and care for the sick kid during the night. It was a good birthday, now let’s see if I make to the next one.
