My concert experiences

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is an annual touring rock concert featuring an impressive light show, a gripping Christmas story, and their own renditions of many popular Christmas tunes. They also have some original music of their own. The first half of the show tells the story of a child who is lost and is trying to find her way home on Christmas Eve.A narrator tells part of the story and then a Christmas song is played relating to the part of the story told. The second half of the show is like your traditional rock concert. It features lots of pyrotechnics, lasers, and a light show reminescent of Pink Floyd. The band has two touring groups that travel the US starting in November and ending in early January. If this sounds like your thing then check it out at trans-siberian.com. It is a very energetic show and worth seeing if you like the concept of rock opera.
Flyleaf
This is a newer band who's second album is expected to be released soon. Their musical style is Christian themed with a modern grunge/screamo sound. They have some softer songs as well and have the potential to stand among other mainstream popular rock bands. They have an excellent but modest live show. Not as flashy as some bigger artists. That could change if they develop more mainstream popularity. They are definetely a band to watch and see where they go.
Journey
Journey is a popular band which got their start in the late 1970's and were very popular in the 1980's. They have had several changes of lead singers throughout their history as a band. Their new lead singer Arnel Pineda is considered by many to sound the most like their original lead singer. This has led to a major resurgence in Journey's popularity. The light show that goes along with the show is impressive and they have made some changes to some of their songs by adding new quitar intros. These guitar intros add a nice touch to already great songs. Their live show is impressive. Their are times when Arnel changes clothes several times throughout the show. Their is usually something the band does that serves as a distraction so you may not even notice he is gone. The drummer did lead vocals on one song and it seemed like the same person was still singing. Overall it was a great show that exceeded my expectations.
