My Dream Job: A Wildlife Consevationist In Kenya

Every since I was a teenager I dreamed of being a wildlife conservationist in Kenya. I even attended college in northwest Wyoming studying wildlife management when I was 17, so someday my dream could come true. To work on a wildlife reserve, and wake up every morning with the warm  African sun streaming through my window, and knowing the job of the day would be to preserve one of the most precious of God's gifts, our wildlife. I can picture myself in a beat up old Landrover, cruising over the plain, looking for wildlife in need of my help. Scouting for poachers doing their dirty deed. I can imagine coming across a lost lion cub seperated from his mother. Not being able to find it's mother, we must of course take it back to the camp. This would be no hardship to me.

The hot dry wind in my face with the animals running along side of my Landrover, knowing there's no other place I would rather be. Protecting those who are sometimes unable to protect themselves from the cruelty of our world and it's people. The Ivory hunters driven by their greed. The hunters who think of nothing else than the trophy they will take home to show off to their friends. These are the kinds of people our wildlife must be protected from to survive. What greater task in life, than to preserve that which is precious to our meaning of life, and the very essence of our soul. This is maybe a little naive of me, but this is my dream.
