My Journey With Xomba, Adsense and Blogging
My Journey With Xomba, Adsense and Blogging
I became a member of Xomba just over 42 weeks ago. I found it through the Make Money Recycling Xombyte. The option of making money writing for a website intrigued me. I read through everything and the site seemed legit. Writing was heavily encouraged. I followed the very easy to read instructions on how to set up an Adsense account and within one day I was approved.
My first Xombyte was http://www.xomba.com/how_to_prepare_for_a_successful_yard_sale as my wife and I love yard sales. Then I wrote Xombytes about work, our dog and general interests. After a while I discovered hot keywords and tried writing about things I may not have known much about, but they were words that people were searching for. Here is the link to find keywords https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal, which helped my totals a little. It took a while to get up to $5 in my Adsense account and I was wondering if I would ever make the $100 mark.
After a few months I found the Hot Trends, which shows the current top searches on Google, which is here http://www.google.com/ig the Hot Trends will not show up unless you are logged in, which is the same as your Adsense login. This is a very helpful tool that keeps you up on current events.
Somewhere around this time I got frustrated. At the time Xomba success stories were on the front page stating how people make hundreds of dollars a day and thousands per month with Xomba. Most of these success stories contained no secrets, just referrals. I thought these members were only fishing for 10% of any new users income. I was frustrated because I hadn’t reached $10 yet in my Adsense account. How could these members be making that much money with very little content aside from boasting and giving a referral number? One thing that did stick out on success stories was to write, write, write. That would be important, I would find out.
Then I got into Xomblurbs. At first I didn’t care for them. It seemed to be cheating, simply posting a link to something interesting. I changed my mind quickly when I saw the results. First I tried them as a way of passing on something that I found interesting, like a game, story or video. More success came from Xomblurbs. I used the Hot Trends to find which persons or events people were searching for, then post a link to that person or event. My Adsense account started growing. I liked it because I did not need to spend a lot of time writing, just searching the Internet, which is something I am good at.
During the later months I started my own blog http://notconcerned.blogspot.com/ and applied my Adsense code to it. In the past few months I really got into satirical writing. I visit The Onion everyday for humorous news stories. I thought why not do the same for my blog. I wrote several stories satirizing local personalities. One was picked up by a local website and I had several thousand reads in one day, BUT NO CLICKS! I have been lacking in my Xomba postings due to writing for the blog, even though Xomba brings more money.
Along the way I posted Xomba and my referral number http://www.xomba.com/referral/7777b737 on a local forum and picked up two new members. Neither of them has posted anything so far. Also a Xomba member whose user name I can’t remember told me how to track individual URLs and many thanks to him/her.
Now I try to do what everyone preaches at this website; write, write, write. There has to be something you are interested in. Find it and write about it. If you want easy clicks, find a hot topic and make a Blurb. The more you write/post, the more money you can make. As of now I am at 15,531 page impressions with 690 clicks and $73.40. Not bad for surfing the net and writing stories that make people laugh.
In a few months I should be getting my first check from Adsense. $100 is not much in today’s economy, but it is my little reward for being active on the Internet. I can’t wait to spend it.
Thanks for sharing how this journey with Xomba has been for you. I look forward to reading an update. I am at about the same place you are and more than making a lot of money, I do enjoy the community.
This was a very honest post. It just goes to prove that making money is not an easy task. It requires a lot of hard work and a lot of strategy and planning along with it. Lots of people here claimed about making lots of money, and some were honest about it while others are just playing around.
Any work that you do needs a lot of dedication and professionalism for it to succeed. So, if you want to make money on the internet, you need to learn all about the internet as soon as possible so that you can maximize your profits.
Wish you "all the best" and hope you get your first check soon.
Keep posting.
Being a long timer here I can tell you in the beginning $73 was a fortune (wHATUP is a new login but i have been here a long, long time)I did not make that until around the 8 month mark. Many of the writers here now have winning formulas and if you pay attention you can make money. Write, write, write.

In order to keep from being an annoying dork about it, I try to stick with the idea that 'if you don't expect to get anything, anything you do get will be extra-good.'
Sure, I would probably make more money if I "tried harder," but--since Xomba.com isn't quite my 'bread-&-butter'--it doesn't seem to be worth the extra stress.

Thank you for sharing your journey. It's important to understand what it takes to be successful. As you mentioned the key is to write, write, write. Good Luck and wish you much success.
... we've all read these boastful, unrealistic claims. It's really good to read an honest xombyte about earnings replete with useful information.
thanks
