My Life's Water
posted October 29, 2009 - 12:17amWhen we are in love, the strangest of feelings come over us. We always want to compare our love for someone to something less abstract than the feeling we are feeling. In more ways than one, we describe the love that we have - often to the most beautiful things we can think of.
I have also been in love. I am still in love. It's quite unexplainable, actually. I've been thinking of something to compare my love with. I keep on thinking of something which has a lot of properties, and yet, remains the same thing. Like my love for my Ferdimar. I've been in relationships in the past, but this time, with him, it is different. I know so because I have prayed for him and I believe in my heart that he is God's answer to my prayers.
My love is like water. And so to my life's water, I dedicate this poem:
My Water
If you were water,
I'd rest in your stillness;
Bathe in your coolness;
Dive in your depth
'Til I quench my thirsty heart.
If you were water,
I'd run with your flow;
Fall with your splash;
Tiptoe with your trickling
'Til I fill my empty heart.
If you were water,
I'd drench in your warmth;
See through your crystalline clarity;
Welcome you as you rush to me
'Til I can never live without you.
I love you, water that feeds my soul...
