My Mother Must Have Joined Xomba

I guess my mother must have joined Xomba, because someone has actually voted on two of my xombytes. However, if that someone is my mom, why didn't she rate me higher? After all, she paid for part of the college education that is the foundation for the nearly flawless grammar, spelling, and composition of all of my posts. She's the one who fostered my addiction to reading, which, like a gateway drug such as marijuana, has paved the way to my addiction to writing, which is more like heroin. Please Mom, give me a 10! This is no time to be objective. My Ad-Sense account depends on you!

Thanks for the vote! This is a fun place to write for, particularly when you get responses like these. But, are you sure you're not the weird neighbor with a lot of cats? I swear you look familiar... :-)

Okay, I'm not related to any of you. I am not the sister or long lost fourth cousin or even the weird neighbor who has a lot of cats. I don't even know if you guys are all really related. But this is hilarious and I gave it a 10 for sheer amusement, the fact that you DID get me to read it and yes, your grammar and use of commas is stellar. Keep writing :-)

You're a big-time Internet writer now...but maybe if you called your mother more often she'd have given you a 10. But that's okay, you didn't listen to her when she said you should become a doctor or a lawyer (or at least MARRY one). No, you do what you want, go play with your animals. Your mother will be sitting by the phone in case you ever decide to call. Unless there's one of those big storms, and a falling tree knocks out the phone and all the lights. Your mother will just be sitting there, in the dark. But that's okay, you'd probably rather be feeding dead fish to some stinky old seal anyway...
