My Name Is Angel and I Am a Printaholic

Hi,

My name is Angel and I am a printaholic.

I love to print. I print hard copies of online catalogs.

I print copies of what I write so I can proof read them on paper, not just the computer screen.

I print pictures, and interesting little things I find.

And I hate having to worry about how much it costs for me to print things.

Then we got a laser printer and I not only have to buy toner, but I need a drum and transfer film every so often...

What is a person to do?

I found a site online where I get all my supplies for less than half of what they cost me in a store. They are top quality and come to me by way of fast free shipping.

Now I can print anything I want, and I dont have to worry about the cost of supplies.

Now I need a really cheap paper supplier...lol

Nothing will replace the feel of paper in the hand.... I was spoiled many years ago by a paper salvage warehouse that got bits and boxes of all the really nice paper...colors textures, weights, and specialized peel and stick things at really low prices..... It was great... Now I see those paper in the stores and they are so expensive...I just cannot justify the expense.... sigh.... I do buy paper by the box...but the toner and replacement items on the lazer printer were killing my budget....I tried a lot of different suppliers online and saved some, but the quality was not always great and I did not always save a lot...it was still expensive.... The toner cartridges for our printer are $150 dollars each and it takes 4 cartridges for the black and white and the color toners....I get them at this place for about $30 each and they are top quality and I dont even have to pay for shipping.... It lets me indulge my print habit...lol And no matter how hard I try, I cannot proof my work well on the computer....I just dont see the mistakes.... On the printed page, they jump right out at me....lol Angel

I'm the same way...

I need to be able to hold some documents in my hands and lean back in my chair to really enjoy reading them. To read the same things online, of course, requires that we lean forward to peer at the screen. (I think they've even alluded to this duality on an episode of CSI before, too.) There was a time when I printed out *everything* and filed it away *for later*, but that became too cumbersome. Now, I just save the webpage to my Favorites folder (which I make sure to save on a flash drive on a regular basis) and have access to whatever I need for a later date. Owing in part to my system of folders and subfolders (and subsbubfolders) in my Favorites folder, I have links to whatever articles I am currently using as reference for Xombytes, as well as items of interest to use in future -bytes. For what you're printing, you are definitely going the right route to buy your toner and film. The best advice I could give you in terms of *cheap* paper is to go to stores, like Staples, and buy a case at a time of the store brand paper. Sometimes, but not often, you can get name-brand paper by the case on sale. Plus, having a whole case of paper means fewer trips to buy single reams of paper. "Treason doth never prosper, what's the reason? For if it doth prosper, none dare call it treason." -Sir John Harrington, 1561-1612
