My NFL Power Rankings Week 15
posted December 9, 2008 - 9:02pmOnly 3 more weeks in the NFL season and things are getting even more exciting. Here are my latest Top 12 teams in the NFL Power Rankings, week 15:
1) Tennessee Titans - They take over the top spot after the Giants had a horrible week against the Eagles. With a 12-1 record, it's hard to argue with how good they are. Kerry Collins is reliving his Penn State years.
2) New York Giants - They are still the top team in the NFC and possibly the whole NFL but last week goes to show how wide open it really is. Could they have been looking ahead to Dallas this week? At 11-2, they are oh so close to clinching the number one seed.
3) Pittsburgh Steelers - Their come from behind victory over the Cowboys was quite impressive. At 10-3, they are looking good to be the number 2 seed in the AFC and their defense will keep them in any game. Big game against Baltimore this week.
4) Carolina Panthers - Huge win against Tampa Bay on Monday puts them (at 10-3) in a number 2 seed position in the NFC. They don't have an easy schedule though and it won't be easy. Home against the Broncos this week.
5) Indianapolis Colts - They have won 6 in a row but unfortunately they are in the Titans' division. At 9-4, they can only be the number 5 seed at best and a very dangerous one at that. Should wallop Detroit this week.
6) Baltimore Ravens - Their offense is looking healthy and, with their strong defense, can't be overlooked. At 9-4, they now play the Steelers in a game that could put them in the hunt for the number 2 seed.
7) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Their defense got run all over against Carolina and, at 9-4, they now have to go to Atlanta. This game is huge to their playoff hopes.
8) Dallas Cowboys - Was that a hiccup against Pittsburgh or is it over for the Cowboys? Tony Romo makes some very bad mistakes when it counts the most. At 8-5, they now play the Giants with their playoff hopes slowly fading away.
9) Miami Dolphins - What a difference a season makes. They are 8-5 in the tough AFC East and look like the best of the bunch. Should beat a tough San Francisco team at home.
10) Arizona Cardinals - They have won the NFC West for their first division title since 1975 when they were in St Louis. At 8-5, they at least will have one playoff game at home and they've only lost once there this season.
11) Denver Broncos - They are one win or one San Diego loss away from their first division title in 3 years. They finally broke their streak of losses at home against Kansas City but have a tough one against Carolina this week.
12) Atlanta Falcons - This team, like the Dolphins, has been a pleasant surprise this year. Matt Ryan is most likely Rookie of the Year and they need him to play his best against the Buccaneer defense this week.
