My Top 5 Writers here on Xomba

Being that we have inducted a new round of Hall Of Famers here on Xomba, I have decided to list my favorite writers here on Xomba. No real criteria went into this list other than writers whose work I truly admire in one way or another. Now, be warned, I am an old-timer here so most of these writers you have probably never heard of before. So click the link and get aquainted with them - its well worth your wild.

1. Lady Peninhand - Lady P was quite active here in the early days of Xomba and really helped create that sense of community that is now here. More importantly for me was the fact that she got my writing. Anyone who has read just about any of my posts will realize I write with a lot of sexual undertones (maybe some overtones as well). I feel the characters sexuality is deeply important for me to convey my story. Lady P was the first one to get that and encourage me to continue exploring those themes. While she was never the most talented writer here she could definitely surprise you when she wanted to - check out The Shower Scene to see what I mean.

2. Micheleg4153 - Michele is about the most talented fiction writer I have read on this site. I thought I was Ok until I read The Believer and realized I had a long way to go. The spectrum of emotions she could bring out in just a few paragraphs was amazing.

3. Cara Gunderson - Cara was a favorite here in the early days and is fantastically funny. Read this little number about her in her socks to see what I mean. The humor in her articles always seemed so effortless - like she could pop one these out at anytime.

4. Publius - Pub is probably the most talented writer here in my opinion. While I very rarely agree with his politics, his articles at least make me think and evaulate my stance. He never speaks from the cuff, articles are researched so he knows exactly what he is talking about. He will challenge you and make you know your stuff as well. He is very opinionated but I do not feel that that is necessarily a bad thing. Oh, and don't be fooled by the bunny - he'll rip your heart out. Read any of his articles to see what I mean.

5. Mia Morthwest - Mia has picked up the baton from Cara and Lady P. She involves herself deeply in this Xomba community and always has a kind word for everyone. On top of that she is a fabulous writer and can make me laugh out loud. My favorite is her supehero series - check this one out about Wonder Woman.

Well, there you have it. I know there are many other of your favorites here - feel free to tell me who they are.

Tried to take your advice

Thanks wHATUP. I have tried to take your advice on writing fiction, using what I know, but somehow it always turns personal... I'll keep working at and maybe one day I can join the great fiction writers of Xomba! I love your stories!! MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! Nah!

That wouldn't be too constructive because I would just rant away. Let's just say that when someone posts the minimum amount of words, doesn't take time to make coherent sentence let alone and entire post and takes that same post and posts it on a million different websites - that it sticks in my crawl. I know Xomba is open to everyone but when there are so many good writers here that I would hate for someone to stumble on one of these posts and think this is what this site is like. Really

This list could've been 20 or twenty-five but I wanted others to chime-in with their favorites (odd how Pub doesn't have any except me. :)). And yes, I did want this to become a love fest because a lot of writers here are really trying and it is nice for someone to every now and then recognize it. I know when I got into the HOF here I was extremely happy - I know that I'm not the best writer in the world but I try everyday, every post to get better and I know that most everyone out there is doing the samething. MJ you have been a bright spot in this community as well - your not afraid to get in and get your hands dirty and you can write as well! Visit my homepage here

Thanks rawnak for the mention

I appreciate the mention although I am just getting my fingers wet (leave it alone people! ha!) here in the writing world, it is nice to be recognized. I have read a bit of everyone's stuff listed and I certainly have to agree with all names mentioned. Good job Whatup for your top 5 picks. MJ - Sending happy thoughts and Smiles! No cerveza at night for me

makes you get up too often. I had fun though. Thanks Bare Essentials

Nice List

WhatUp. I liked Lady P and Cara's posts - but they have been missing for a while and like you said mia is carrying on the baton. In fact there are more posts with Mia in the headlines than anyone else. And I agree with your opinion on Idle - he seems to be missing entirely these days - a real gap. You Whatup will feature in my favs writers - with Taprial, AAT2 just in terms of talent. AAT2 seems to be awesomely talented and should really be having a role in mainline media somewhere! I find to have been mentioned somewhere - to hv taken Xomba to another level - thanks and I think Champagne should make the list too - she is right up there, I feel. My Xomba Page

Aww...come on, post it! It

Aww...come on, post it! It won't hurt anybody. A little bit of honesty could improve these writers that you despise. Tell ussss, wHATUP. Pleasssse? (You can put me on that list too, if you want.) Who is Publius? What is Rational Liberty? How do I join Xomba and get PAID to write?

Cervezas

The burden of expectations

My shoulders are suddenly feeling heavier and so are my typing fingers. Notwithstanding that, thanks Champagnedreams and wHATUP and Rawnak for the citation. Will try to live up to it. Bare Essentials
