My Top 5 Writers here on Xomba

My Top 5 Writers here on Xomba

Being that we have inducted a new round of Hall Of Famers here on Xomba, I have decided to list my favorite writers here on Xomba. No real criteria went into this list other than writers whose work I truly admire in one way or another. Now, be warned, I am an old-timer here so most of these writers you have probably never heard of before. So click the link and get aquainted with them - its well worth your wild.

1. Lady Peninhand - Lady P was quite active here in the early days of Xomba and really helped create that sense of community that is now here. More importantly for me was the fact that she got my writing. Anyone who has read just about any of my posts will realize I write with a lot of sexual undertones (maybe some overtones as well). I feel the characters sexuality is deeply important for me to convey my story. Lady P was the first one to get that and encourage me to continue exploring those themes. While she was never the most talented writer here she could definitely surprise you when she wanted to - check out The Shower Scene to see what I mean.

2. Micheleg4153 - Michele is about the most talented fiction writer I have read on this site. I thought I was Ok until I read The Believer and realized I had a long way to go. The spectrum of emotions she could bring out in just a few paragraphs was amazing.

3. Cara Gunderson - Cara was a favorite here in the early days and is fantastically funny. Read this little number about her in her socks to see what I mean. The humor in her articles always seemed so effortless - like she could pop one these out at anytime.

4. Publius - Pub is probably the most talented writer here in my opinion. While I very rarely agree with his politics, his articles at least make me think and evaulate my stance. He never speaks from the cuff, articles are researched so he knows exactly what he is talking about. He will challenge you and make you know your stuff as well. He is very opinionated but I do not feel that that is necessarily a bad thing. Oh, and don't be fooled by the bunny - he'll rip your heart out. Read any of his articles to see what I mean.

5. Mia Morthwest - Mia has picked up the baton from Cara and Lady P. She involves herself deeply in this Xomba community and always has a kind word for everyone. On top of that she is a fabulous writer and can make me laugh out loud. My favorite is her supehero series - check this one out about Wonder Woman.

Well, there you have it. I know there are many other of your favorites here - feel free to tell me who they are.

Thanks for the compliment

Of course, just because we have mentioned just a few names here and there (probably the more noticeable ones) doesn't discount the other lesser known but good writers nevertheless. KjHack, Wdzzz, Grimess, Free Cracker 4 Jack (has surprised us all with his romantic side), MJ Dakota, XHellCatX, L Wagen, Sarahjen (I wonder where she has disappeared), Angelskates...The list is endless. New ones are cropping up everyday. The Arcade http://www.xomba.com/referral/77778

Thank you

for the shout out, it was so very nice of you to include me in your xombyte. So I make you laugh out loud? Good! You, in turn, scare me sometimes :) But for all the names mentioned in all the comments, they're a huge reason I love to log in to Xomba every day and read their work. Another writer whose work I seek out is Eyeopening. I love the xombytes on health and nutrition. BTW, where is taranitely and her MAPUS series?? Thanks again! Peace, Mia NW

My next trick

I will be naming the writers I hate! Yes, I said Hate! Ok...I won't really post that list but there are some writers here that I just cannot stand. They drive me crazy! And I know I shouldn't let them get to me but I'm an emotional guy - what can I say. Visit my homepage here

Idlewild and Robinette

Are great as well. I'd love to see Idle do some fiction - I know its in there somewhere and I do take the time to read just about everything he puts up. But he likes iCarly a little too much! :) Robinette can write with the best of us when she has the time - I'm glad to see her back and hope she gets around to posting some new stuff soon. Quite honestly I can say that I think that yourself, Mammia, Mia, DeDom and taprial are largely responsible for where Xomba is today and yes that is a compliment. Jdub figures in there somewhere as well. It will be very interesting to see where the upgrade leads us. Will we get some more quality writers? There have been some great writers here that lasted only a very short time - Ken K, taranitely, Allison West to name just a couple - will they return? And a new crop seems to be doing well - Disefano, the Grimesss. I'm surprised by no fans of kjhack or wdzzz. Visit my homepage here

Well Written

Even if you do just occasionally rail - you know the resources to fall back to support your arguement. And yes it has been a VERY interesting three years for me here on the 'ole Xomba. I knew that was just a disguise! Visit my homepage here

An interesting list

wHATUP, and I completely agree with you. I loved the articles and stories written by those authors (they really had class and style). You are also right that no one has been able to reach their level so far on Xomba and they have left a huge void. Mia Northwest has a class and style of her own that stands out as unique and I am surprised that I missed out on her "superhero" series completely (other than the Lois one). Where was I? Thanks for bringing it out. That story was absolutely brilliant and I love the way she turns everyday stuff into humor so effortlessly. Wish I could do that. Publius too has a place of his own and has written some really good pieces with loads of "Scientific" information. I do admire his intelligence and wit although he can be caustic at times..I don't think anybody can match up to him on Xomba other than probably Les. I am flattered to have my name mentioned among such great talent on Xomba. Thanks a lot CD and wHATUP for the encouragement. Taprial has a unique style of his own. Your own articles are always very interesting too. I have enjoyed reading your stories, and have voted on most of them although I may not have left a comment. I love to read Idlewild's posts too, and I wish he would write more xombytes (other than news stories). He can be very humorous too. Robinette writes some very emotional stories that somehow touches the heart. Well, all in all, we do have some great writers on board Xomba. The Arcade http://www.xomba.com/referral/77778

That Bunny Was Fictional

No bunny in real life would ever do that. Certainly not this one. But seriously - don't be fooled by the picture...that's just a pit viper wearing a fuzzy bunny costume. Who is Publius? What is Rational Liberty? How do I join Xomba and get PAID to write?

Best

Sorry ranwak - I meant best! And thank you Champange - you are defintely up there as well. When you post that is! :) Visit my homepage here
