My weight loss saga

My weight loss saga

I am continuing to lose weight. It is a very slow, aggrevating process. It seems like everyone talks of weight loss after the fact. Some people talk about it during but rarely do you get an inside glimpse of the true absolute struggle it is. Shows such as "The Biggest Loser" are great because you get see obese people lose massive amounts of weight in a very short period. However, most of us cannot spend 5-6 hours a day at the gym. You will usually get hyped up after a show like that only to find yourself depressed and angry when you do not achieve the same results.

Most people have done enough research to know exactly what they have to do to lose weight but the way to get real lasting results takes too long and is too much work. If they can't get it from a pill or a "4 minute a day" workout it is not going to happen. My problem has always been the same as everyone else's. I start off strong and if it seems like I am working so hard and eating "right" the weight is just not coming off fast enough. I have been steadily losing weight since March. (33 lbs) but I have been stuck for almost a month. I workout 4-6 days a week (zumba, or 2 miles running on the treadmill and a 1/2 an hour of weight training)but I can feel myslef slipping.

I've started eating a little worse and not going to the gym as much. I will pull myself back because this time I have come too far. I just wanted to give you some inspiration and let you know it can be done. Start off slow and remember it took you alot longer than 6 weeks to get fat!! eat a little better tonight and go for a little walk! That is how I started and it does work! Good luck and let me know how you are doing.

Weight Loss

Great article about weight loss! I find that after losing weight, there's always a plateau phase, where the same things like counting calories and exercise seem to stop working. I noticed that even if the number on the scales didn't budge, as long as I kept up the healthy eating and exercise, I'd drop a pants size. I'm trying to watch my weight right now and get healthier, but its hard to be around people who aren't as health conscious. Today I gave into temptation and had a slice of my Dad's birthday cake, but tomorrow I'll go back to whole foods and healthy eating. I find that even if I slip up and don't eat as healthy, then keeping up with exercise really helps with maintaining weight. Thanks for your article, it's inspiring! http://www.xomba.com/user/allison_west http://www.triond.com/users/Allison+West http://thecommacafe.blogspot.com

Honesty about weightloss

Excellent points mymara. I am one of those people that have the initial, "yeah, I'm gonna do it this time." only to have a day come along that just doesn't go as "I" planned and throws me off. Getting back in the "habit" is a hard one. Most of us do not have the money for a personal trainer either. Most times we are our own support "group" as well. I'm glad you are working it out and yes, you have come too far to stop. Every weight-loss plan hits a plateau where your body is readjusting and redefining. In a month or two, you will be suprised that maybe your scale isn't showing a drop in the number, but your clothes are fitting differently, looser in places you haven't even thought you were working.
