My World of Warcraft Gold Making Secrets

My World of Warcraft Gold Making Secrets

Disclaimer: This article is intended for Wow players who have had some experience in playing the game (has leveled to at least level 5-10).

If you are a first time player, I would suggest that you have a little go at World of Warcraft first, just to get the feeling of how the game operates.

I am going to share with you some of my biggest secrets on making gold.

One of the best ways I have found, is to start with a female character and to get the level up to 10 - 15. Levelling 10 - 15 can be done in 3 days (or 6 hours playing time) depending on your play style.

Preferably choose a Blood Elf Female Paladin, Human Female Paladin or a Draenei Female Paladin and use retribution as your main talent (Burning Crusade Expansion set is required to use Blood Elves and Draeneis).

You also want to be careful on how you name your character.

As you start to level, sell your junk, and purchase 4 bags.

The majority of Wow players are male, and it's only natural for a male to want to help out a female character.
I tested this theory by creating a few male characters.

I found that whenever I played as a male, I received a bit of abuse from other males in the game, no one offered to help me to level up, other male characters in the game seemed to be more in competition with me instead.

So I created a Blood Elf Female Paladin (and a Priest), and as a level 3 ran to Orgrimmar.
It wasn't long until someone (a male character) asked if I needed any help, and they also persisted, If I need any help to ask. Of course I said, I'm ok thanks (because I was only testing to see if my theory was correct).

So the first step: Start as a Female character (preferably Blood Elf, Human or Draenei), choose a strong feminine name.

The next step is quite obvious, you need to make friends with a level 80 character.

You could do this easily by complimenting them, or by helping them to earn World Event achievements. Don't be rude or depressing. Just be nice to everyone around you and players will be drawn to you.

Once you make a friend or a few friends, at least one of them will be willing to help you level, and it will most probably be the one who was flattered by your compliments ;). By doing so, they will take you for 'Runs'.

Note: Don't ask them to take you for a Run. Wait for them to offer.

A run is usually held inside a dungeon, inside the dungeon are high level (Elite) mobs that usually require a group of 5 or more players to kill. A level 80 will be able to kill these mobs easily. You will earn experience points as well as pickup a few green or blue high value items.

After the run, thank them and say you really appreciate it.

So step 2: Make friends with a level 80 player. Wait for them to offer to take you for a 'Run'.

Step 3: Sell all of the high value items such as greens and blues that your character does not need in the auction house.
Search the Auction house for similar items like yours and see what prices they are selling for. Take not of the levels and price accordingly.

Always make the starting price the same as the buyout price, for a quick sale.

Method 2: Take up mining, even if the profession is not suitable for your character. Ore always earns alot of gold in the auction house.

Method 3: Save every wool or silk cloth you pick up inside the Dungeons ('Runs'). You can sell these in stacks of 20 for around 7-9 gold each. You will get alot of wool or silk cloths while participating in the run. I made 29 gold after only one run, and I didn't kill anything!

So now you know how to make gold. If you don't want your main character to be a female (you can have 10 different characters of the same faction: Alliance or Horde) simply create a new character, don't delete your current one.

Find a mailbox and post your gold to your newly created character. (You can only send currency to characters on the same server).

Well that leaves us to the end of the article.
I hope these ideas help you in some way, have fun and enjoy!
