My Xomba Success Story - by Publius

It feels like another lifetime since I had signed up for Xomba. In the nearly two years on this website, I have posted many articles covering a variety of subjects and have been fortunate enough to have these articles read and discussed. While some have turned into week-long debates, others have hardly been read. But never to be deterred from doing what I enjoy (writing), I keep on truckin' and strive to improve on my little hobby.

And oh, the rewards you can reap by posting your work online!

In just under two years I have had the opportunity to supplement my income through the wonderful Google Adsense program. I have not had quite the success that others on Xomba have enjoyed, but to say that I've gotten "nothing" would be a hideous lie. I must confess that I do not write just to make money, but I do only post on Xomba for that reason. And now I have finally reached a milestone not to be forgotten.

Earlier today, I logged on to my Adsense account and was amazed to see that I have successfully accomplished what had been advertised so many months (and almost years) ago in the local Folio Weekly paper:

"Get paid to write!"

Well, it seems that "getting paid" is exactly what is about to happen. So, here's the big announcement...and I hope all of you are fortunate enough to achieve this type of success in the near future:

I have made my first $50!!!

(For all you accountants out there, that amounts to about $0.50 per week.)

If any of you have ever clicked on my ads, thank you, from the bottom of my black heart (that's what everyone thinks anyway, right?). Here's to another two years of unimaginable prosperity! I couldn't have done it without you, Xomba!

(Actually, I could probably find more change on the streets in much less time than I spend on this website...but you get the point.)

And you can lose the lot...

if for some reason you may have unwittingly clicked on one of your own adverts. I have had my account disabled in the last couple of weeks for such a reason. No warnings, just disablement. I have emailed an appeal three times already without reply.Still think your adsense gains are an achievement? You haven't got your money yet! Visit Kiwi Riverman Visit Qassia Today

Earning on Xomba...

is much better now than when Xomba started, two years ago. Back then it was a new site and didn't have a high ranking in the search engines, and it seemed almost all the page views came from fellow Xombies.

You can

you can definitely make some money here. It all depends on what you write and how you write it. If you search for tips and faq you'll get some ideas. It does take a lot of work and is not necessarily easy i.e. searching hot topics, key search words, link your writing to different sites, promoting yourself. Many have done it though. DeDom, Chris Crow, Mamamia07 I know all have made some good money here.

Up to this day, I have $76

Up to this day, I have $76 in my adsense. This is one year and four months of blogging but I didn't earn that from Xomba alone, though I earn higher in my Xomba clicks than in the other sites. However, I can say I've only been active for a total of 5 months. In the other months, I left my posts to live on their own, most of the time I forget about them. I'm doing an experiment this time. I want to prove to myself that it is possible to earn online. For many, the secret is quantity and I'm trying to apply that, though I try to make quality articles too. I'm not giving up just yet. Giving myself a year before I quit. Hope to earn my 2nd $100 in lesser time. My Xumblurbs My Xombytes My Hubs

Hey, don't feel bad. I've

Hey, don't feel bad. I've made almost four bucks so far in my adsense career. Fifty bucks is better than nothing. It's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Yeah

picked up on it. But success is success. Does not matter when you achieve it - a month, six months, a year, two years.

I was away for about 3

I was away for about 3 months or so at the beginning of 2007...but at the time, Xomba was having some technical difficulties anyway, so I'm not sure if I would have made much during that time. In all honesty, I don't expect to earn a lot of money with the way I write. I have tried to do the "marketing" of my Xombytes, but I get just as much viewing and clicking of ads (which is practically nothing) as if I did nothing at all. I have accepted the fact that unless I spend hours a day posting and marketing that I won't make much here. But like I said, I don't write to make money - I write because I enjoy it. If I happen to get paid in the meantime, so be it. It's not going to affect what or how much I write one way or another. *If you're interested in reading my articles, Click Here.

I thought it was pretty clear

what you meant. But hey, I didn't want to be a spoilsport since you were getting so many messages of congratulations. As far as making $50 in two years, weren't you away from Xomba for a fair part of that time? Six months maybe? There were other times when you were online but not posting much. If you want to try to make more money on Xomba without writing more often or changing the subjects you write about, you can always copy and paste your article into Google's keyword engine (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal) and it will show you what keywords (that are relevant to your article) that are most appealing to advertisers and might earn more money.

You all do realize that this

You all do realize that this "Xombyte" was meant to be a joke and a bit more than sarcastic, right? I know it's hard to pick that up on a computer screen, but it should have been quite obvious that I was "excited" or "pleased" about making $50 in two years. That aside, I appreciate the comments and thank you for your support and the kind words. *If you're interested in reading my articles, Click Here.

Congratulations

Way to go. Wish you continued success.
