MySpace Sex Offender Crackdown

MySpace, one of the most popular sites on the web, has been found to be a haven for convicted sex offenders to target naive, over-sharing teenage girls, but also to put up their own profiles as lures. While MySpace has taken down the profiles of known offenders, they still cite privacy laws in not revealing more information. To their credit, they are working with another company to root out the offenders.

Personally, I believe there should be some sort of requirement to vet new profiles and access against a Megan's Law database. Well, that and require some common sense amongst the parents of and the teens that post profiles there.
