NASA AND THE FACTS ABOUT MOON

NASA AND THE FACTS ABOUT MOON

There is one article in a local newspaper giving some details regarding moon.It states that the samples brought from moon indicate that it(moon) is older by more than half a billion years than the earth. The more surprising is the conversation between Neil Armstrong and NASA's Apollo Mission Control at the time of landing of Apollo 11 on moon.It is claimed in the article that Neil Armstrong had sighted some spacecraft(naturally from some unknown place other than the earth) and he reported it to Mission Control but the entire conversation has never been made public by NASA intentionally. The article also claims that the subsequent Apollo spacecrafts(Apollo 12 and others) had photographed some kind of construction activity going on on the surface of moon but NASA never made this public. If these facts presented in the said article are true then the question is : What led NASA to hide facts?

Moon -- NASA

Welcome aboard! as they say. I enjoyed reading your article about an article and I voted on it too! [http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/geotime/age.html] I am going to cut and paste a few lines from the USGS (United States Geological Survey) publication above right in below here and then if you want to read the entire thing which you should read you can link to it directly. "The Moon is a more primitive planet than Earth because it has not been disturbed by plate tectonics; thus, some of its more ancient rocks are more plentiful. Only a small number of rocks were returned to Earth by the six Apollo and three Luna missions. These rocks vary greatly in age, a reflection of their different ages of formation and their subsequent histories. The oldest dated moon rocks, however, have ages between 4.4 and 4.5 billion years and provide a minimum age for the formation of our nearest planetary neighbor." "The best age for the Earth (4.54 Ga) is based on old, presumed single-stage leads coupled with the Pb ratios in troilite from iron meteorites, specifically the Canyon Diablo meteorite. In addition, mineral grains (zircon) with U-Pb ages of 4.4 Ga have recently been reported from sedimentary rocks in west-central Australia." Current ideas, and comparisons of the Earth and Moon's crust show the elemental ratio signature in the rocks is strong enough to strongly suggest that the Moon was formed from the collision of Earth with a nearly Mars-sized object 4.5 billion years ago. You might want to improve your maths and study the physics of such a collision which in addition to blasting the material of the proto-Earth into space, melted the blob that would become Earth completely. Moon mass is 1/80th of earth mass.
