Nastia Liukin, with strong performances on the uneven bars, balance beam and floor rhythms, won the Women's Individual all round gold medal. Shawn Dawson won the silver while Yang Yilin of China won bronze. After the halfway stage, Shawn Dawson did not even feature in the top three after Yang Yilin's near perfect show on the uneven bars. However faultless performances on the balance beam and floor rhythms by Dawson showed the experience of the Americans and helped her make it an American 1-2 in the Women's All Round Gymnastics at the Beijing Olympics. Must be some relief for the US team after losing the gold to China in the team event!
