National Day of Prayer

National Day of Prayer

The first Thursday of May is the National Day of Prayer observed in the US and is a day created by the US Congress when Americans of all faiths are invited to pray for the country. The "National Day of Prayer" Task Force is an organisation that works to encourage people all over to take part in this day. Check it's history and other information here.

I can't say I know God ... I can 'say I do,' just like I can say I walk on water; but to tell you the truth, I can't (or cant, or chant ... I get mixed up there). God can't be "known"---oh, people can 'know that they're experiencing God's Grace' and thus claim to know God. And God's Grace grants clemency for such bragging. Know you've got the Grace, and all things fall in place!

Abraham Lincoln stated, "No nation can be successful if it does not hold the Lord as its God" (or God as its Lord, I always get those mixed up). The NDoP-website even makes it clear that, 'while there is the "seperation of church and state," the founding fathers never intended to base the nation in any Law other than that of "the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob."' But still, the dissenters need their Heretics' Word-Jockeying to have equal space with the Devoted Administrators; so we also have the National Day of Reason today (May 1)!Disagree?
