Natural Cold Cures

There are natural herbs available that can help you to stay healthy or help you to feel better quicker when you get a cold.

A study showed that 32% of Ginseng users got colds after 4 months compared to 62% taking a placebo. Another study showed that 256 people taking Ginseng had 25% fewer colds after 4 months than the people taking the placebo.

It is shown that the herb Echinacea shortens cold symptoms by a day and a half when taken regularly. It also decreases the chances of catching a cold by 58%.

A supplement containing the herb andrographis paniculata can improve cold symptoms by up to 55%.

Cold Cures

I have also been using liguid Enchinacia and goldenseal for over 20 years. I do not take it as directed. When you first feel the signs of a cold coming on, itchy nose, scratchy ittitated throat (before you actually get sick) I take 2 dropperfuls in the morning, 2 at lunch and 2 at dinner. 9 times out of 10 I will not need to take anything else and all symptons are gone. I have had maybe 2 colds come on in the last 20 years. I have been using this to stop colds, even though people tell me it doesn't work. It work's for me. I had a Chinese naturalist tell me to use it this way many years ago. She did say not to take it on a daily basis or it wouldn't work as a cure. You can only use it for 3 days straigt as a cure. I am not a doc but it works for me. The key is, to have it in the house all the time so when you feel it coming on, you get to it quickly. If you wait 24 hrs, its to late.
