Naturmobil: Cart runs on ‘horse power’ - Horse is behind driver - a MUST SEE!

The Naturmobil has six motorcycle wheels, and "unlike traditional horse-drawn vehicles, the horse rides inside, behind the driver, protected by an all-weather canopy."

Top speed is around 80km (49mph), but, normal cruising is in the 20km (12mph) range.

Abdolhadi Mirhejazi, its creator, who runs a business in agricultural equipment, says, he came up with the idea while trying to come up with idea to utilize horses in new, cruelty-free ways.

Extreme care of the horse is central to the vehicle's success.

From leather, lace-up shoes for the horse, to a specialized treadmill, shock absorbers for the treadmill to protect the horse's joints. A specialized gear box, so the horse experiences no-strain, and with all of this the vehicle produces extra energy to charge a battery for lights, and, to give the horse up to a 20 minute rest via the battery powering an electric motor.

There are also a bag for horse discharge and feed.

And, the horse and driver are both enclosed, so, not to be affected by weather.

The USA preview will be this June in Pittsburg, California, at the Invention and New Product Exhibition.
