The needle and the damage gone

—“Here is a story I have to tell you before you leave me. I have been your professor for this entire year and this is how we say goodbye. Just a few days ago, somewhere in Alabama, a couple died the same day, in the same bed. It is a great love story between them, such great that we could have said that these two peoples were the same body, the same heart that beats under their chests because when something was happening to the husband, it used to happened to the wife a few days later. This story I’m telling you had all the secret of the needle and the damage gone. Imagine the struggle for life as a needle, with this needle you have to fight one day more to see the next. Every junky is like a setting sun, he lives one day and that’s it, he is finished. However, when the needle takes another man into the other side of existence, the man who is fighting to live one day more can succeed on living it. Like that he can weave day by day until he grows older, and this is the story of this famous couple of Alabama.
“One day, the husband woke up with a strong headache; he visited a doctor who told him after analysis that he had a brain cancer. As anything that happens to the husband also happens to the wife, this last one also encountered the same illness a few days later. When the news fell into the ears of the husband he had been ashamed to say that he was happier like that. At that time when cancer had been declared to the husband, this one was sixty years old. Do you know at what time did the couple die? At 93 years old. Yes, they were born the same day and they lived together since the age of 3 and they died the same day. The secret of this miracle was jasmine tea.
“Once they revealed the secret to each others, the husband wanted to drink a cup of Chinese tea with jasmine. He found it marvelous and decided to always drink a cup of tea in the morning. The wife got also addicted to this beverage and even in nights where they suffered both of strong fevers, the smell and the flavor of the jasmine tea in the house made them capable to support the pain.
—“Tomorrow I’ll take a Chinese tea used to say the husband to the wife.
—“Me too she used to answer him.
Like that, waking up every morning very early and going straight away to the kitchen to prepare a tea they succeeded on evincing cancer and death.
