Game Review:
Trapped: The Abduction is a disturbing hidden object game that has you playing a young girl who's been abducted by a dangerous serial killer. What follows is a twisted game, which has you trying to escape his claws as he continues to toy with you.
Most of the game play is hidden object style, although there are some inventory puzzles to complete as you play. These objects are very challenging to find, since most are color blended and small, hiding in the shadows. The backgrounds are dark and dingy, with few colors (mostly yellow or gray tinted). While this certainly makes them scary, it also means that objects are tough to spot. You get reloading hints, thankfully, and the game play is untimed.
If you make too many incorrect clicks, the screen fuzzes up for a second, and the killer laughs. He laughs way too much in fact...sort of like Tickle Me Elmo meets Silence of the Lambs.
As for the logic puzzles, these are manageable, but not always obvious. For example, when you're stuck in the back of the car trunk, you must find numerous screws and some string to rig up a system to open the lock, but this isn't necessarily obvious. You might want to use a walkthrough if you get stuck.
Trapped: The Abduction is a tough and frightening hidden object game, which should challenge even the most experienced players. Unfortunately, it's a bit of an eye strain. While it's not gory, it's definitely not a game you'd want to play if you're easily disturbed or if you have small kids watching.
