25- THOSE WHO DO NOT AFFORD TO MARRY THE FREE BELIEVING WOMEN; THEN MARRY FROM WHAT YOUR RIGHT HAND POSSESS OF THE BELIEVING SLAVE GIRLS, AND ALLAH HAS BETTER KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR FAITH, YOU ARE ONE FROM ANOTHER. SO MARRY THEM WITH THE PERMISSION OF THEIR GUARDIANS, AND GIVE THEM THEIR DOWERS WITH KINDNESS, SEEKING CHASTITY, NOT SEEKING ADULTERY OR RELATIONS WITH OTHER MEN. ONCE THEY ARE MARRIED, IF THEY COMMIT ADULTERY, THEIR PUNISHMENT IS HALF OF THE FREE MARRIED WOMEN. THIS IS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO FEAR COMMITTING SIN, AND IF YOU ARE PATIENT AND PERSEVERE IT WILL BE BETTER FOR YOU, AND ALLAH IS MOST FORGIVING AND MOST COMPASSIONATE.

This was an option for Muslim men who can not afford the expenses of getting married, and this was to marry a slave girl. Slavery was abolished from the world at the second half of the nineteenth century, and these rules do not apply to our world today.
1-    They should be of the believing girls or women i.e. Muslims.
2-    They should marry them with the permission of their guardians who were usually their owners.
3-    They should be given dowry.
4-    Both men and women should be seeking the chastity of marriage and marital life, and to have life and family together.
5-    If this slave girl married to a man commits adultery, her punishment is half that of the free woman. They are not stoned to death, even after their marriage. They were flogged half the free girl which is fifty lashes.
Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “If a woman slave commits adultery, flog her, then if she commits adultery flog her, then if she commits adultery flog her, then if she commits adultery sell her even for just a piece of robe”. (B: Hodoud; 35, 36 & M: Hodoud; 31, 32 & D: Hodoud; 32)
Then Allah the Highest reminds us that patience and persevering is better for us to save us from temptations, and then Allah’s Compassion is all embracing of His slaves.
