New Concept: The Xomba Presidential Debates (Feedback Requested)
New Concept: The Xomba Presidential Debates (Feedback Requested)
While writing a response to another member regarding the election, I had an epiphany. Since none of the debates so far in this campaign season have told us much if anything about the person who will be our next president, how about we do something like this on Xomba?
What I have in mind is a moderated debate with a moderator (obviously) and a list of questions submitted by Xombies so that we can understand the true nature of each candidate. We can pick a team of 5 members to represent each candidate and act as the research and writing team in reply to each question.
For example:
Question #1: Where does each candidate stand on alternative energy exploration and development?
Each team would research the Internet and find and corroborate information that each candidate would potentially use for each answer. This information doesn't have to be just PR releases from each campaign, but can also be voting records from Congress, records of PAC payments from energy companies, etc.
By laying out everything about the candidate's true history, we can give the voting public a much better representation of the person for whom they are voting in November.
My hope is to put an end to the harsh language and ill will that seems to be filling many of the comment sections on the board of late.

I am interested in hearing what you all think about this idea. If anything, something like this would drive lots of traffic to the website, which would stand to benefit all of us who write here regularly.
