Just last night I was introduced to a new instrument that I had never heard of before. It is called a "theramin" and it is responsible for making those eerie alien-ish noises found in 1950's tv shows, where fake UFOs float around and people sometimes enter the Twilight Zone. The video I have posted features Clara Rockmore (1911-1998), an accomplished woman who was the first to master and showcase the musical range of the theramin, and all of its analog wonders.
