New Year, New Hopes, New Start
posted January 3, 2009 - 5:18amIt's the year 2009, and most of us have probably set up some resolutions or goals for ourselves this New Year. We should leave behind all the pain and sorrow, all the regrets and bad habits of the past year, and embrace this year's beginning with a fresh start.
It may not sound easy, but if you take steps to curb your bad habits such as having regular hangovers, swearing, excessive spending, it will really make a change in your personality and lifestyle (not to mention the feeling of accomplishment when you achieve the goals that you set). If you are having trouble changing yourself, it may be wise to find some kind of motivation (such as friends or family) to give yourself a boost. The most important thing is WILLPOWER. Try not to slip back into your bad habits (such as sleeping late). Even if you fail, try again and again until you finally snap out of it.
What are your goals for this year? Get in shape? Work hard and earn a promotion? Or maybe to buy that car/house you've always wanted? Don't give up at the start, work hard to fulfill your resolutions. Make it a point to go to the gym every few days. Don't slack off at work. Make a reminder so that you don't forget about your loved one's birthday or anniversary. Watch your eating habits. And try to be a nicer person. Get rid of the issues or bad habits that are tying you down so that you are one step closer to your goals.
Don't dwell on the past. Live for the future!
