News about Harrison Ford reprising Hans Solo in a new Star Wars film
Actor Harrison Ford swears that he will never reprise the role that launched his career the beloved Star Wars character Han Solo.
The sixty-five year old actor is presently relishing the success of his most recent film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which became a major box office hit an unheard of seventeen years after his debut as the fearless archaeologist. Nevertheless, Ford is appreciative for the career boost gave him from Star Wars while he was a struggling actor, but he considers returning the sc-fi franchise as the character is too dull of a career move.
He says, "Han Solo isn't interesting to me. It's a very narrow sort of utility in the story and it was great for my career and it was fun to play at the time but I wouldn't go back there again. Those pants! There are characters that it seems to me are worth re-exploring given that the story advances your understanding of the character, deepens your relationship to that character and takes you into an area that's new and unexpected."
"Some characters are decidedly one off kind of characters. Some characters don't outlive the movie."
