At the fact that it has reached over 4000 reads I feel I need to publicly apologize for putting this on Xomba. In no way did I feel this was a decent post and in no way do I condone anyone posting a wire news story on Xomba. I would like to make known that I was experiementing with what gets popular and what doesn't and it saddens me that this got so popular so fast. This is not news for one, and not literary for two, and probably makes your intelligence go down for reading dribble like this. I certainly would never say to my boss at Filter MAgazine ; Hey! Forget Sonic Youth on the cover, did you see my post about Britney? NOOOOOOOO. SO I ask that all Xombies follow suit in making sure all future stories are not news wires or celeb tabloid gossip nonsence (or maybe make a category for that). I would aslo like the poster of "Keisha Castle-Hughes Pregnant" to join me in re-editing his or her post to actually say something instead of just being a wired news story cut and pasted.

Perhaps we should ban together to have more rules put in place on Xomba to keep posts from being a press release, spam, or news wires. To take this even further we should remove all press releases and news wires. I love Jackburroughs, but I think we would all like to see his press release for Drum magazine removed. I would much rather see one of his other posts up there that are reviews of his, and he has some great ones. Back to changes. And I would like to here more from teh Keish story. That news wire told me everything I already knew? How about some personal reflection on the matter? Or personal insight or experiences.

How to change...Perhaps a petition?

In conclusion I feel that Xomba is a place for literary thought and writing and not Live Journal Blogging, therefore we should reevaluate our current situation and apply some serious thought to restructuring.

ps. I am sorry if anyone feels badly for reading the wire - it was an interesting wire and a very current topic, however I could have done a better job at writing it. For instance I could have spent a few lines paraphrasing the wire and then go into my own feelings on the matter. I'm not knocking people who read these articles I just think Xombies can do better then this. I mean even I was floored at a $1600 thong set, but I shouldn't have just cut and pasted. Thanks.
